
Health and Population Minister Pradip Paudel has stated that doctors are not permitted to work in private hospitals or clinics while on duty in government facilities.
Speaking to journalists in Kathmandu today, he stated, “They should be offered during business hours at government hospitals.” Minister Paudel stated that the ministry’s rules announced a few days ago, are currently being implemented in hospitals and departments.
He stated that some issues have arisen as a result of the guidelines’ implementation, which will be resolved as quickly as possible.
According to the Health Minister, the government has taken steps to address and manage the healthcare system’s issues. He underlined his commitment to steady reform, recognizing that change in the health sector cannot be noticed suddenly.
Minister Paudel stated: “We have begun numerous projects, such as improving healthcare delivery, managing health insurance, and reducing drug costs, which are currently being implemented.” He briefed RSS that the ministry’s plan to increase health insurance coverage to Rs 500 thousand had been approved by the Council of Ministers and was ready for implementation.
“The Council of Ministers will accept our proposal and the Rs 500,000 insurance will be implemented immediately,” according to the health minister.
