Following several grievances regarding the government’s inability to provide outcomes, the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML established a two-party political system to guarantee the government’s seamless operation.
The mechanism, which is chaired by Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, was established by top leaders of the coalition parties in a recent meeting on Wednesday with the goal of improving the efficiency and focus of the government’s activities.
Central Member and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Central Member and Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, and NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka are on the mechanism’s task group. The task force includes representatives from the UML, including Senior Vice Chairman Ishwor Pokharel, Vice Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, and Deputy Secretary General Bishnu Rimal.
The ruling parties are getting ready to progressively adopt the two-party system, even though the meeting a week earlier also voted to create one at the province and district levels. The task force will now be run by the main parties in the federal parliament on a monthly basis. NC Vice President Khadka will chair the meetings for the first month, which will run from November 6 to December 5.
The task team has also determined that Foreign Minister Rana Deuba will manage the necessary preparations for the formal visit to the northern neighbor and arrange Prime Minister Oli’s next trip to China.
