Nepali nationals between the ages of 21 and 32 are eligible to apply for a youth fellowship program given by the SBI Foundation of the State Bank Group. The foundation has committed to offering a well-structured opportunity for recent graduates and young professionals to work with rural communities and 13 non-governmental organizations across India. Applications are being accepted for the 12th edition of the 13-month SBI Youth for India program. September 17 is the cutoff date for fellowship applications.
Sanjay Prakash, the CEO and Managing Director of SBI Foundation, emphasized the organization’s commitment to enabling young people to effect significant change in rural areas. He stated, “We invite young people from Nepal to become part of our team and serve as change agents for rural communities. Urban youth have a rare opportunity to actively contribute to development while tackling the difficulties of rural life through the SBI Youth for India initiative.”
The fellowship focuses on twelve different themes, such as education, food security, health, rural livelihood, and environmental preservation. The fellows can focus on any one of these twelve theme areas throughout the Fellowship program, depending on their areas of interest. After being chosen, students must report to Tilonia in Kishangarh, Rajasthan, on October 5 in order to start their experiential learning process.
Numerous young fellows have demonstrated enthusiastic engagement with the program in the past, which has greatly benefited their future academic pursuits and advanced their careers in the social sector. More than 580 fellows have been generated by the program in the last 13 years.
