Melamchi water distribution has started up again in the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday.
The Kathmandu Valley is now receiving water from the Melamchi water treatment plant in Sundarijal, according to a Tuesday announcement made by Minister of Water Supplies Pradeep Yadav.
Since the treatment plant’s water supply has opened, Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) branches have started to distribute water.
Minister Yadav stated that water distribution will continue till the next monsoon and that the requirements of the communities will be met after Dashain after speaking with locals.
Due to damage done to the Melamchi Water Supply Project’s source during the monsoon of last year, water diversion was stopped. The diversion began earlier this year than Dashain.
