Nirmala Sharma was chosen as the FNJ president

The Federation of Nepali Journalists’ new president is Nirmala Sharma. Sharma garnered 4,282 votes, according to the official voting results that the FNJ’s central election committee revealed late Sunday.

Ramesh Bista, her closest opponent, garnered 3,203 votes. According to the electoral committee, Lal Singh Lama received 96 votes and Devi Prasad Sapkota, another presidential contender, received 270 votes.

With 4,230 votes, Deepak Acharya was elected to the senior vice presidency, while Roshan Puri, his closest rival, received 2,886 votes. With 4,705 votes, Nitu Pandit defeated Ganga Paudel Baral in the women’s vice presidential election.

With 4,292 votes, Umid Prasad Bagchand emerged victorious in the inclusive vice-presidency, while Subhash Prasad Sah, his closest rival, garnered 2,080 votes.

With 4,084 votes, Ram Prasad Dahal defeated Leknath Nyaupane, his closest rival, for the post of general secretary. With 3,400 votes, Ramesh Khatiwada emerged victorious in the race for the vacant secretary post. Soni Sharma received 4,347 votes to become the women’s secretary.

In a similar vein, Sabin Priyasan received 3,535 votes to win the post of secretary for indigenous communities. With 3,858 votes, Ashok Kumar Tiwari was elected as the Madhesi secretary. Prakash Dhaulakoti received 4,110 votes to become the Dalit secretary, while Baikunthraj Parajuli received 3,645 votes to become the associate secretary.

With 3,847 votes, Ram Krishna Adhikari was elected treasurer. Shankar Kharel received 442 votes, while Kamal Rimala obtained 527 votes for the Koshi Province central member slot. Rajesh Kumar Karna received 376 votes, while Raju Bishwakarma received 297 votes in the Madhes Province members’ election.

Narayan Prasad Adhikari received 450 votes, while Navraj Pathik received 368 votes for the central member seat for Bagmati (not including the valley). In the province of Gandaki, KB Rana garnered 381 votes, while Krishna KC received 330. Bikash Banjade received 473 votes, while Ramraj Pokhrel received 560 votes in Lumbini Province.

Tularam Pandey received 288 votes, while Nagesh Prasad Upadhyay received 321 votes in the Karnali Province. Suresh Pant received 300 votes, while Yogendra Bahadur Balayar received 397 in the province of Sudurpaschim.

According to the election committee, Surya Subedi received 668 votes and Arjun Pant received 459 votes for the Kathmandu Valley’s provincial member seats.

Savita Sharma received 487 votes, while Birendra Oli received 400 votes for the institutional province. Manuka Kunwar received 301 votes, while Pavitri Mudbhari received 209 votes in the associate province. Chhabilal Tiwari received 3,470 votes, Bhupendra Acharya received 3,582 votes, Mukunda Prasad Bhandari received 3,721 votes, Rameshwar Karki received 3,630 votes, and Labdev Dhungana received 3,830 votes in the open member category.

With 4,185 votes, Ruby Kumari Rauniyar was victorious in the Madhesi women’s division. Mala Palungwal received 3,737 votes in the Indigenous women’s category, while Lila Shah Yogi received 3,810 votes in the Khas Arya women’s category. Rita Budhathoki was elected without a challenge in the Dalit women’s category.

Sikendra Paswan received 3,316 votes in the Dalit member category, and Savitri Rasaily was elected without a challenge. Devika Gharti Magar was elected without opposition in the Indigenous women’s member category, while Bharat Jarcha Magar received 4,050 votes in the Indigenous community member category.

Rajkaran Mahato received 3,893 votes in the Madhesi member category, while Lalita Kumari Sah received 4,409 votes in the Madhesi women’s member category. Bhupraja Basyal received 3,557 votes in the disability category, while Laxman Thami received 4,373 votes in the minority member category.

A total of 4,194 votes were cast to elect KC Lamichhane as the Chairperson of the Accounts Committee. Keshav Prasad Bohara received 4,125 votes in the general member category of the same committee, while Rukmini Pokhrel received 4,089 votes in the women’s member category. On December 13, the association’s election took place.
