
Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said the safety of Nepali citizens living in the Middle East has become a major concern as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
Addressing the nation today, the Prime Minister said the Government of Nepal is closely monitoring the situation following rising conflict involving Iran and neighboring countries. She stated that all diplomatic missions have been instructed to remain active to ensure the safety of Nepali nationals.
“Today, the world is witnessing a deepening crisis in the Middle East. The growing tension involving Iran has worried us. The Government of Nepal is carefully monitoring the developments,” she said.
“The safety of our Nepali brothers, sisters, and youths living in that region is our top priority. All Nepali missions have been mobilized to ensure there is no shortcoming in security facilitation.”
Government Monitoring Through Foreign Ministry
The Prime Minister said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal is conducting continuous monitoring and coordinating with Nepali diplomatic missions in the affected countries.
She assured that the government remains fully committed to protecting every Nepali citizen, wherever they may be.
“Wherever Nepalis are, the government is committed to protecting the personal safety and interests of every citizen,” she said.
Call for Peaceful Elections and Holi Celebration
Prime Minister Karki also said she accepted the responsibility of leading the country at a difficult time in history as a duty toward the nation.
She urged citizens to celebrate Holi (Fagu Purnima) with joy and harmony and called on voters to make the upcoming election peaceful and historic.
The Prime Minister appealed to the public to ensure that the election scheduled for March 5, 2026 (Falgun 21, 2082 BS) is conducted in a peaceful, fair, and democratic manner.
“Let us share the happiness of Holi together and make the upcoming election peaceful, clean, and historic,” she said.
